Classification of laser range sensor

Laser ranging uses lasers as the light source for ranging. According to the way the laser works, it can be divided into continuous laser and pulse laser. Gas lasers such as helium neon, argon ion, thorium cadmium, etc. work in continuous output state for phase laser ranging; dual heterogeneous gallium arsenide semiconductor lasers can be used for infrared ranging; solid lasers such as ruby and neodymium glass can be used For pulsed laser ranging. Laser distance measuring instruments are generally divided into three types according to the measurement distance.
1.Handheld Laser Range Sensor
The measurement distance is generally within 200 meters, and the accuracy is about 2mm. This is currently the most widely used Laser Rangefinder. In addition to being able to measure distance functionally, it is also generally possible to calculate the volume of the measurement object.
2.Telescope laser rangefinder
The measurement distance is generally around 600-3000 meters. The distance of this type of rangefinder is relatively long, but the accuracy is relatively low, and the accuracy is generally about 1 meter. The main application range is field long-distance measurement.
3.Industrial laser Distance Sensor
The measurement distance is about 0.5-3000 meters, the accuracy is within 50mm, and a reflector is required to be installed 300 meters away. Some products can also measure speed at the same time as distance measurement. It is mainly used for position control, such as vehicles and ships; positioning cranes; loading and unloading and handling equipment; aircraft measurement, mainly for flying height measurement; metallurgical process control; measurement of inaccessible objects such as pipe fillings, pipes, containers, etc., and Water level measurement.
